The Krohn Racing Team came to Spa this week with high hopes for a podium finish, maybe even a victory in the 6 Hours of Spa race. Those hopes were dashed as the cold and rainy Belgium weather played havoc on the tires and race set-up. Tracy W. Krohn, Nic Jönsson and Michele Rugolo drove their Ferrari F458 to a seventh place finish in the GTE-Am class at the 6 Hours of Spa World Endurance Championship (WEC) race at Spa-Francorchamps circuit on Saturday, May 5.

With changeable weather conditions, incredibly close racing and unpredictable results, two excellent races from Assen today proved beyond any doubt that this year’s Superbike World Championship is the most entertaining, adrenaline-fuelled motorcycle racing championship in existence.
Providing thrills and spills in equal measures, the only thing missing from the two action-packed WSBK races was a BMW S 1000 RR victory to add to Sylvain Barrier’s dominant win in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup earlier that day. However, it was not to be, although the indications are that it is only a matter of time before that elusive first WSBK victory comes.

The best ever BMW World Superbike results were the reward for BMW Motorrad Motorsport rider, Leon Haslam, as a result of consistent performances at the 4.936km track of Imola in Italy today. The Brit picked up two hard fought third places to take to the podium in both 21-lap races. It was the kickstart to the season that he had hoped for, following an injury-marred start to the season at Phillip Island, and sees him move to 4th place overall in the championship standings, just ahead of team-mate Marco Melandri.
